Winter Walks

Hello 2017!

For a while I’ve been meaning to start writing again, but I’ve struggled to find my voice, to find something to say. Maybe this blog will turn into being “about” something, or maybe it will just be a place for me to jot and journal my thoughts.

My intention for 2017 is about being slow and thoughtful, acting with intention, recognizing and enjoying the small things, and loving myself a little bit more. I’m going to try not compete and compare myself to those around me as much, I just want to focus on being the best version of myself. I want to continue to create and try new things and have fun and learn along the way. My year-long projects include hand making all my clothes (this has been a goal for years, the time is finally here) and planting and growing a vegetable and herb garden, now that I finally have the space to do it. I don’t honestly know if I have a green thumb or not, I’ve never really attempted to grow anything. But I love eating freshly picked, organic veg, so the motivation to learn is there!

The photos above were taken at Burnham Overy Staithe, along the north Norfolk coast. Our timing was perfect: we walked along the frozen beach before the sun had a chance to melt the frost and before the fog rolled in. I swear, the weather in England can change as often as it does in Chicago!
